Things are changing up there. After the very successful launch of Aquarius last June (data available, see the first issue of evaluation Level 2 science data files (V1.1) , available via the PO.DAAC at http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/SeaSurfaceSalinity/Aquarius), today Megha tropiques was successfully launched.
This compensates a little the sad (probable) loss of AMSR-E whose mechanism failed on October 4th.
