Dear Smos Blog followers…We have been somewhat silent these last few weeks (months!) because activities were somewhat frantic!We have been through many iterations to improve drastically the SMOS level 1 and preparing the new 6nn version for all levels (1 to 3) which are undergoing final tests before overall evaluation and beginning of implementation and reprocessing (more detailed news on this soon).We have been active to prepare the next steps (the mission extension review took place at ESA and is for very soon at CNES) we work on the other missions (Aquarius and SMAP to be launched on November 5th) the follow on concept both for the near term (the so called SMOS follow on) and the future (the SMOS Next concept).SMOS soil moiture in near real time is almost there … stay tunedand obviously some good science is coming..We will try to resume now more regular updates and please fill free to submit topics it will be out pleasure to post them!The SMOS team
